About This Guide

This research guide is designed to provide the Marquette community with tools to fully support international students on campus. As the international student population continues to grow, Marquette will become an increasingly globalized institution that seeks to foster intercultural competence for all students, faculty, and staff.


The purpose of this guide is to:

  • Encourage a diverse and inclusive learning environment that prepares Marquette faculty, staff, and students for an interconnected and globalized world.

  • Foster intercultural knowledge and awareness as well as cross-cultural competency in the Marquette community.

  • Enhance the learning experience of both U.S. and international students by making the classroom a global active learning environment.

  • Assist Marquette faculty and staff in teaching with resources that focus on international students.

  • Enhance cross-cultural communication and relations among students, faculty, and staff as they work together in the pursuit of academic excellence.

  • Encourage students to engage with a diverse community of international students inside and outside of the classroom.
