Visas
F-1 Visa
Visa issued to an international student working towards a degree.
J-1 Visa
Visa issued to an international exchange or non-exchange student studying or working for a semester or academic year.
International Students
Undergraduate International Student
International student working towards an undergraduate degree.
Graduate or Professional International Student
International student working towards a graduate or professional degree.
Non-Degree Seeking Exchange Student
International student from a partner university not working towards a degree, but is enrolled in courses for a semester or academic year.
Non-Degree Seeking, Non-Exchange Student
International student that is not from a partner university and is not working towards a degree, but is enrolled in courses for a semester of academic year.
ELS Student
Non-degree seeking undergraduate or graduate student studying English at the ELS language center located near campus (1834 W. Wisconsin Ave). These students do not attend class on campus but have access to Marquette’s facilities such as the library and fitness center.
International Student on Practical Training
Student completing an authorized period of work which is directly related to the student’s program of study.
