Adding Gale Databases to D2L

Gale is one of the many database vendors the Raynor Memorial Libraries subscribes to. Select Gale resources can be easily integrated into your course to make it easier for students to access these resources and discover content for researching topic in your course. The following Gale resources can be linked to from within D2L:

Installation Steps

  1. After accessing your D2L course, click the “Content” link in the top navigation bar.
  2. In the “Content” area of the course, look in the left hand side bar and click on the module you want to add the tutorial to. You can also create a new module by typing a name into the “Add a module…” text box at the bottom of the left hand side bar.

  3. Once inside the module, click the "Add Existing Activities" button.

  4. A drop down menu will appear, select "External Learning Tools" from the drop down menu.

  5. In the box that appears, click the resource you would like to add. Note that you may need to scroll down to find the resource. In this example, we’ll use “Expanded Academic ASAP”.

  6. The source you selected should now be visible in the module. To access it, click the link.
