History and other humanities disciplines involved in Medieval Studies rely largely on writing as a means of presenting original research to a wider audience.  Using proper citation styles, usually Chicago (Turabian) style, helps researchers avoid academic dishonesty, and allows them to maintain the integrity of their original research.  Good writing and citing, therefore, are keys to success in medieval studies.
