Not all databases provide permanent links to articles. They may however, include DOI numbers in the article records that provide a unique, persistent link to internet content. They include a prefix and a suffix, separated by a slash, and always begin with the number 10, for example, 10.1000/123456.
The example below provides instructions on finding DOI numbers in Sage Journals Online and modifying them for off-campus access.
Other databases and eJournals also provide a DOI number, often on the first page of the journal article or listed with the article citation in the database or journal's table of contents. These include:
STEP 1:
Click the abstract link in the article record.
STEP 2:
Copy the DOI number.
STEP 3:
Convert the DOI number to a URL in your browser's address box by adding the following prefix: 0-dx.doi.org.libus.csd.mu.edu/ followed by the DOI number and hit enter.
