Reporting Sites/Guidelines

Cochrane Collaboration

  • Leading resource for systematic reviews in the areas of health sciences and medicine. Includes Cochrane Library, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials.

 

EQUATOR Network (Enhancing the QUAlity and Transparency Of health Research)

  • Developed as "an international initiative that seeks to improve the reliability and value of published health research literature by promoting transparent and accurate reporting and wider use of robust reporting guidelines."
  • Includes reporting guidelines and links to resources to other reporting guidelines.
  • Reporting guidelines for major areas of reporting including but not limited to: RCTs, systematic reviews, protocols, practice guidelines, etc.

 

Joanna Briggs Institute

  • This is a registry of JBI systematic reviews. Please note: these are specific to affiliated authors and groups.

 

PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses)

  • PRISMA "focuses on the reporting of reviews evaluating randomized trials, but can also be used as a basis for reporting systematic reviews of other types of research, particularly evaluations of interventions."
  • Reporting tool for systematic reviews and meta-analyses. Additionally, it includes checklists for completing a systematic review as well as a form to create the diagram.
  • Recommended for anyone conducting a systematic review and the journal editors reviewing systematic reviews.

 

PROSPERO

  • Registry for systematic reviews in the field of health sciences, education, crime, welfare and more.
  • Recommended to register your systematic review. Also a good place to search if you are interested in a completing a systematic review; determine if one is already done on your topic or register before you begin.
