About stairlifts

Be aware that the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990) has made the US a leader in many things related to disability.  I'm including a few links which are exclusively US oriented simply because they give an overview of terminology or issues.

Health in the EU:

Trade journal / magazine articles:

Use trade journal / magazine databases for current news on these two specialized industries and the individual companies within them.  Below are a couple useful items I found either directly in Business Insights Essentials, or from a reference in it.

IMPORTANT note:

When searching in the trade magazine databases, remember to use both spellings, stairlift and stair lift, and also various broader terms.  Here are a few examples:

–   mobility equipment –   mobility aids
–   assistive device –   lifting and handling equipment
–   assistive technology

Health system information

For the Bruno groups, here are some sources about the healthcare systems in your countries.

From the European Commission:

These pages give you a brief overview of long-term health provisions in each country.

➤  Use the drop-down menus near the top of the pages to explore the country pages: often you can find the names of relevant government agencies, or other relevant programs.

From the WHO:

These reports provide a profile of the health care system of the country.  Each has a chapter on financing (minimum 25-30 pages).

From BMI:

A resource that sadly is close, but not quite on target. But it does list the names of gov't agencies and regulatory bodies in the various countries:  these may be useful contact points.

From the Business Innovation Observatory:

Two case studies that offer some insights, though still no real answers about government assistance!  (The Business Innovation Observatory is a body of the European Commission.)
