Designing an Effective Syllabus

Resources to help faculty and staff design an effective syllabus to engage and motivate students

Overview

These sections should provide more guidance or language for specific sections of a syllabus. These sections are suggestions to add to your syllabus. Please see the Examples section for the Marquette template from the Committee on Teaching (April 2019). 

Be sure to include:

  • Instructor contact information (office location and hours, phone number, email, pronouns)
