The Libraries provide a variety of in-person and online assistance to researchers.
Information Desk: in-person assistance is provided most hours that the library is open. Staffed by a combination of Librarians and Graduate Research Assistants, we field all types of questions through a variety of mediums: face-to-face, email, telephone and instant message/text.
Librarians will meet with you one-on-one to help you with your research, or to give you an overview of library services and resources. Intended for both student and faculty use Research Guides provide a central location for researchers to learn about and access the wide variety of resources available in a discipline. Guides have been developed for academic disciplines, as well as for special topics. Use the yellow Research Guides tab on the Libraries' home page to locate the guides available by disciple and topic. In addition, librarians can create Research Guides for specific courses to supplement the discipline guides. A few examples of topical guides are:
Faculty members can authorize research assistants to check out library materials for them. Complete and sign the Authorized Assistant Form and returned it to the Raynor Library Circulation Desk for each research assistant. An e-mail will be sent to the faculty member when the form has been processed.
