88Nine seeks to create a more inclusive and engaged Milwaukee. And in order to be engaged, people need to be informed. The stories below are intended to help you see things from another perspective, showcase local organizations doing the work and provide you with information on how to participate.

Dr. Bledsoe organized this syllabus. From Dr. Bledsoe's website: This bibliography is intended to offer background to how Minneapolis became a flashpoint for a global uprising against anti-Blackness and state violence. What follows is meant to be a brief introduction to understanding the struggles of the Twin Cities’ Black community, focusing especially on the case of Minneapolis. While this historic moment is only possible because of the dedication and courage of those risking their lives in the streets, studying the legacies of struggle in the Twin Cities is vital to grappling with our current conditions and being able to shape our future.

Dr. Sameena Mulla in Anthropology is a main contributor to this project. The purpose is to mobilize anthropological work as a pedagogical exercise addressing the confluence of race, policing and justice.There are 32 syllabus weeks with not only reading suggestions, but classroom activities, paper prompts, discussion questions, AV material, and more.

Note: many of the people generously offering free anti-racist education on social media have become overwhelmed with emails, DMs, and comments asking for more.
