What's an Almanac?
Almanacs organize detailed factual information on a wide variety of subjects in convenient categories. They are excellent for finding the population of a country, Nobel Prize winners, or the name of mountain ranges. Some of them are quite specialized. This one is online and addresses almost everything:
World Almanac and Book of Facts
Almanacs come in great variety and specialization, compiling facts on elections, the Vietnam War, American women, etc. We have over 1400 of them, and you can borrow most of them. To find one on a particular topic see the box to the right.
