To find critical books and biographies about Native American authors, use MARQCAT's subject search feature. The results will gather together biographies, works of criticism, and casebooks on individual books. Examples: Silko, Leslie or Erdrich, Louise
Using MARCATplus from the library's home page, a search using an author's name results in a larger set of works by, works about, collections containing, etc. For example (use quotes): "N. Scott Momaday"
For brief, but reliable, signed biographies of authors, try Literature Online (LION). Here's an example for Sherman Alexie.
