Top 3 Library Accounts for CPS Students

  • Virtual Private Network (VPN)
Before you start your library research, login to the Marquette VPN from off-campus using your eMarq/CheckMarq login. This allows you to access almost all of the library databases from home.
This is the recommended method for CPS students to access databases from home, because it allows you to login without having a Marquette ID Card.
  • MARQCAT
    * Request books, renew online, place holds.
    * This uses the same login as your MU email, Checkmarq, etc. Another name for it is Marqnet log in.
  • Interlibrary Loan
*Request materials (books, dissertations, journal articles) that are not not owned by the Raynor Memorial Libraries.
--Books & dissertations: MUST be picked up on campus.
--Articles: the majority of these requests are delivered electronically.
    *This is a FREE service.*

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a library card?

Your MarquetteCard ID is your ticket to Raynor Memorial Libraries' services. Use it to enter the Raynor turnstiles; check out books and other library materials;  and print materials at any PrintWise station. More Info. . .

Can I use library resources from home?

MARQCATplus, the online catalog, is always accessible 24/7.

Most licensed electronic resources are available from off campus by

  1. logging into the University's Virtual Private Network (VPN) before starting your research.
This method is recommended for CPS students!

  2. starting your research on the library web site and, when prompted to login to access a database, log in with your Marqnet log in.

Can I obtain books or articles not owned by Marquette?

Yes! Students can obtain materials that the libraries do not own through a service called Interlibrary Loan. Register for an Interlibrary Loan account, provide complete citations for needed materials, and they will be delivered free of charge from our local, state, and national partners. Articles are delivered digitally when possible. More Info. . .

Is there a place I can work with a group?

The library has 17 group study rooms available for student use. Some of the rooms can be reserved; some are only available on a first-come, first-served basis. A group may use any empty room if it is not reserved. These group study rooms are a shared resource. We ask that you be considerate of others and help us to ensure equitable access to these spaces for all members of the university community. Reservations can be made in-person at the Raynor Circulation Desk or by phone at (414) 288-7555. More Info. . .

Are there printers and photocopiers available for student use in the libraries?

Yes! There are 11 copier/printers in the Raynor Memorial buildings, including two color copier/printers. These copier/printers are designed to provide decent copies of class notes, Class Reserve material, and periodical articles (if "perfect" copies are required, a commercial photocopier/printer is recommended). All of the photocopier/printers use the Marquette Cash account on a Marquette ID Card or Marquette Courtesy Card. The cost per copy is 7 cents each for monochrome (black/white) copies/prints and 50 cents for color copies/prints. More Info. . .

Is there anyone who can help me with my writing?

The Ott Writing Center, located on the 2nd level of Raynor Library (R240), welcomes all members of the campus community, from first-year students to grad students and faculty. The Writing Center is administered by the English Department; hours and much more are at the Center's website, or call 288-5542.
