Find Books
For detailed suggestions on finding relevant books see "Books" tab in this Research Guide. Here are a few extra tips.
Try browsing in the stacks in Memorial Library. Use the Library of Congress's Classification Outline to tell you the appropriate call number ranges. For example, books on Morocco have call numbers beginning with DT301 to DT330. Find these books in Memorial Library using this chart to Book Locations.
Don't forget that the name of any country is an official Library of Congress subject heading. That means that you can do a Subject search in MARQCAT on the name of any country. Combine the country's name with one of the following four categories, as in nigeria social life and customs or south africa history:
politics and government
social life and customs
foreign relations
History is a narrower term for the Library of Congress than it is for most historians. It tends to be wars and revolutions. There is only a modest overlap among these categories.
