Everything faculty need to know about services and collections.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a library card?

Your MarquetteCard ID is your ticket to Raynor Memorial Libraries' services. Use it to enter the Raynor turnstiles; check out books and other library materials; print materials at any PrintWise station in the library; and to log in to e-resources from off campus by using your Marqnet username and password.

Can I use online library resources from home?

MARQCAT, the online catalog, is always accessible 24/7. Most licensed electronic resources are available from off campus by easy logon using your Marqnet credentials. A few resources may be accessible from the libraries only or may require the use of the University's Virtual Private Network (VPN) software to authenticate MU members from off campus.

Can I obtain books or articles not owned by Marquette?

Yes! Faculty can obtain materials that the libraries do not own through ILLiad, the Interlibrary Loan service. Register for an ILLiad account, provide complete citations for needed materials, and they will be delivered free of charge from our local, state, and national partners. Articles are delivered digitally when possible.

Can I use the Libraries' computer classrooms for my class?

Raynor Library has two computer classrooms that faculty and staff may reserve for occasional use. Use of the classrooms for library programming is the library's top priority. Thereafter, requests will be considered on the basis of availability and appropriateness of room use for the group and their training needs. Reservations may be made either by the instructor or an administrative person responsible for computer lab scheduling.

If you would like a room with a computer and overhead projector for the instructor, but do not need computers for the students, please contact the Library Dean's Office at 288-7214 to inquire about room 301.

Are there printers and photocopiers available in the libraries?

Yes! There are 12 Printwise copier/printers in the Raynor Memorial buildings, including two color copier/printers. These copier/printers are designed to provide decent copies of class notes, Class Reserve material, and periodical articles. If "perfect" copies are required, a commercial photocopier/printer is recommended. All Printwise photocopier/printers use the Marquette Cash account on a Marquette ID or Marquette Courtesy Card. The cost per copy is 7 cents each for monochrome (black/white) copies/prints and 50 cents for color copies/prints. The photocopiers also have the ability to scan to email for free. Click here for more information about printers/photocopiers in the libraries.
