What's an Almanac?

Almanacs organize detailed factual information on a wide variety of subjects in convenient categories.  Almanacs come in great variety and specialization, compiling facts on elections, the Vietnam War, American women, etc. They are excellent for quickly finding a myriad of different facts, e.g. the population of a country, Nobel Prize winners, or the name of mountain ranges.  A well known online almanac with facts on almost anything is:

Find an Almanac on Your Topic

Use the MARQCAT Advanced Search box below:

  1. In the first row, enter almanac in the keyword box
  2. In the second row enter your topic word, e.g. vietnam in the keyword box.
  3. Click "Submit."

To get fewer and more recent hits, enter a date range under "Limit to," such as 2000 to 2009. Or change "Search and Sort" to "Date."  That will organize the hits in reverse chronological order.
